After 93 minutes of a match that turned into a brutal bloodbath, Nafizwan Adnan survived a ferocious onslaught from Stephane Galifi to reach the second round after a tense tiebreak in which both players were on the floor after collisions in the front right corner.
Adnan won 11-6, 8-11, 11-5, 6-11, 13-11 and now meets Peter Barker.
The match ended with Galifi climbing the bleachers to complain to the referees.
