GAULTIER GIVES A FRENCH LESSON

Well, that was real quality stuff from French No.5 seed Gregory Gaultier as he beat Australian Aaron Frankcomb in straight games.

Gaultier said after the match: "I am so pleased to be back playing. After my injury in the World Open I was out for eight weeks and I got fed up with sitting on the sofa putting on weight. I was playing very well at the time I got injured and there was some great competition between the top five or six players"

Gaultier was able to find some immaculate length and width today and he added: "I like this court very much. It feels dead and if you hit the ball hard and low and tight it works very well. I watched some of the matches yesterday and figured out how it might play and I enjoyed it very much today."

Frankcomb played as well as he could, but Gaultier was playing sublime squash and hardly gave him a sniff.
